Dragontail
Chase the pearl. You know snake. You have known it since the Nokia. Dragontail keeps the rules you already know — grow, turn, do not crash — and rebuilds everything around them: you are a jade dragon now, the fruit is a legendary pearl, and how fast you eat matters as much as how long you live.
What it is
Dragontail is a score chase, not a survival contest. Every pearl is worth more if you reach it quickly — eat fast enough and a combo multiplier climbs to nine times — and holding boost makes you faster and doubles your points while you hold it. Surviving is table stakes. Scoring is a skill.
The world keeps pace with you. Every map begins in daylight and slides through dusk into a glowing night as your run gets deeper, so you can read how good a run is from across the room.
How to play
- Open any Discord voice channel, hit the rocket icon and pick Dragontail — or launch from this page.
- Steer with the arrow keys (or swipe on mobile). The dragon never stops moving.
- Eat pearls quickly to chain a combo multiplier up to ×9.
- Hold space to boost: more speed, double points, your funeral.
- A flaming golden pearl appears every fourth pearl and burns out on a timer — 50 points if you reach it.
Runs last a minute or four. Death is instant and so is the restart.
What makes it different
Five real maps. An open meadow, a boulder garden, a pillared temple court, a canyon with exactly one pass — and Sky Ring, which has no walls at all: fly off one edge and you emerge from the other. Each map keeps its own leaderboard, so canyon scores never have to argue with open-field scores.
Scores you can trust. The server replays every run from your actual inputs before it touches a leaderboard. A score on the Hoard is a score somebody genuinely flew.
Skins with commitment. Beyond the dragon colors there is a fat panda, a striped kitty, and the Burning Phoenix — whose entire body is animated fire, embers and all.

Questions
Is Dragontail multiplayer?
No — it is deliberately a solo score chase, like the arcade classics it descends from. The competition lives on the leaderboards: all-time and daily boards for every map, shared by everyone who plays.
How is Dragontail different from normal snake?
The rules are classic snake, but the scoring is not: pearls are worth more when eaten quickly (combos up to ×9), boosting doubles points while you hold it, and flaming golden pearls appear on a timer. Long runs lose to well-flown runs.
How many maps does Dragontail have?
Five — Jade Meadow, Stone Garden, Temple Court, The Gorge and Sky Ring, which replaces walls with wrap-around edges. Each has its own leaderboard and its own day-to-night look.
Is Dragontail free?
Yes. The full game — all five maps and the leaderboards — is free. The only purchases are optional cosmetic skins (a panda, a kitty and a flaming phoenix); none of them change how the game plays.
