Deepvein
Social deduction, inverted. Sixty AI miners are working the shaft. Ten of you are hidden among them. So are the parasites. Nobody knows who is a person and who is a program — which is exactly the problem.
What it is
Most hidden-role games ask you to spot the impostor in a crowd of players. Deepvein flips that: the crowd is sixty AI miners going about their work, and the humans — innocent and parasite alike — are hiding inside it. Your first problem is not "who is lying", it is "which of these sixty things is even a person".
Every miner has a job: hauling ore, working the smeltery, shoring the walls. There are eighteen of them, each with its own animation. Do your job convincingly and you are invisible. Do it badly and someone starts watching you.
How to play
- Join a Discord voice channel with at least one other person.
- Click the rocket icon in the call controls and pick Deepvein — or use the launch button on this page.
- You are dropped into the mine as one miner among sixty. Work your station to fill the shift quota.
- Watch the others. A parasite has to fake the work, and faking it is harder than it looks.
- When you are sure, call a purge. The nearby miners converge on your target and settle it.
Rounds run about eight minutes. Being wrong costs you — the innocent drop instantly and the shift carries on a body lighter.
What makes it different
The crowd is the disguise. In a six-player game there are six suspects. Here there are sixty bodies and only a handful of minds, so the tell is behavioural, not positional.
Kills do not leak the verdict. Every purge goes through the mob regardless of whether the target was a parasite, so the manner of a death tells you nothing. You have to reason about it.
Lunch break. Work stops, everyone gathers, and the accusations start. It is the only time you can talk without also performing a job — which makes it the most useful and most dangerous part of the round.

Questions
How many players do you need for Deepvein?
Two at minimum, and up to ten in one session. It gets sharper with a bigger group — more human miners in the crowd means more genuinely ambiguous behaviour to read.
Is Deepvein like Among Us?
It shares the hidden-role idea but inverts the setup. In Among Us everyone on screen is a player. In Deepvein you are hidden among sixty AI miners, so the first job is working out who is even a person before you work out who is lying.
Do I need a microphone?
No, but it is much better with one. The lunch break is built around players talking to each other, and text alone slows that down.
Does Deepvein cost anything?
No. The game is free in full. There are optional cosmetic purge effects you can buy, but they only change what a kill looks like — they have no effect on play.
