Freelance / Contract Revenue share Remote — anywhere ~10 hrs / week 6-month initial term

Read this part first

This is a revenue-share partnership, not a salaried job. There is no hourly rate, no retainer, and no guaranteed payment. We are a young studio and our revenue is small. If our games make nothing, you make nothing.

We are putting that in the first paragraph on purpose. If it is a dealbreaker, we would rather you stop reading now than find out in month two — and we would genuinely rather see you take a paying role somewhere else.

If you are still reading, here is the real pitch.

Eight games. Almost nobody plays more than one.

That is the whole job, stated honestly.

EZY Studios, the games division of CanvasCraft LLC, builds small, polished multiplayer games for Discord Activities — games that run inside a Discord voice call with no download, no install and no store page. We have eight of them live right now:

Paper JamOne-flick office arcade. Ninety-second runs.
AFK AcresIdle pixel farming that keeps going while you are gone.
Tower CraftCo-op tower defense, 1–4 players. Ten maps, endless waves.
Wing ItOne-tap high-score arcade with live spectating.
DeepveinSocial deduction, 2–10 players. Parasites hide among AI miners.
Snatch!Creature-stealing multiplayer for up to 8.
DragontailSolo score-chase snake game.
RamenCozy 3D cooking, single player.

Three of them — Tower Craft, Paper Jam and Wing It — are also ported to Reddit as Devvit apps. A subreddit moderator installs the app and drops a playable game post straight into the feed. Every post keeps its own leaderboard, and there is a global board across all of Reddit.

Every one of these games is new, and the audience is small enough that it shows. But new players do find us every single day, organically, with no ad spend and no marketing function of any kind. People who turn up play, and a healthy share of them come back.

What almost never happens is that any of them discover a second one of our games. Barely a handful of players have ever tried two, and not one person has played all eight. We have built eight games and what we actually have is eight separate little audiences of strangers, each one unaware that the other seven games exist.

So getting people through the door is not the broken thing, and neither is the games holding up once they are inside. Connecting the catalogue is. That is the problem. It is not a code problem. It is yours if you want it.

The three channels, and what actually pays

Be clear on this before applying, because it determines what you would be optimising.

Discord — this is where the money is

Games monetise through Discord in-app purchases: cosmetic skins, continues, effects. Every dollar the studio earns today comes from here.

Reddit — this is discovery, not revenue

The Reddit builds are free with nothing to buy, by design. Their job is reach. Reddit's Devvit platform is new enough that a playable game in the feed is still a novelty, and we do not think that window stays open forever.

Steam — this is the future, not the present

We intend to bring our strongest title to Steam, most likely Tower Craft, which already has working 1–4 player co-op. Co-op tower defense is genuinely underserved there. But that is next year's conversation. Do not apply because you want to run a Steam campaign; apply because you want to grow live games now, with a Steam launch as the payoff later.

What you would own

What we are offering

20% of net platform revenue received, across every title you actively market, for as long as the arrangement is active.

To be precise, because vague revenue-share terms are how these deals go wrong:

  • "Net platform revenue received" means money that actually lands in our account after the platform's cut — Discord's on in-app purchases, Steam's later. Not gross list price.
  • "Titles you actively market" means titles named in the agreement, added by mutual written agreement as we go. Not a blanket claim on the whole catalogue.
  • Tail provision. If the arrangement ends, you keep 10% of net revenue for 12 months on any title you marketed. Marketing compounds, and you should not lose the payoff for work you did in month two because things ended in month seven.
  • Paid quarterly, against platform statements we share with you in full.
  • Formalised in writing — a contractor agreement with CanvasCraft LLC, signed before any work begins.

Honest expectation setting: revenue today is small. The catalogue monetises and the purchase plumbing works and is live, but the player numbers are not there yet — which is precisely the gap you would be closing. You are betting on upside. Size that bet with clear eyes.

What we are looking for

Existing relationships with creators, streamers or subreddit communities are the single most valuable thing you could bring.

Why this might not be a good fit for you

Why it might be

Eight polished, live, playable games and three novel Reddit ports, with nobody driving distribution. No committee, no brand guidelines to fight, no approval chain — and a developer who can turn around whatever you need in days rather than sprints.

You would also be walking into a rare situation: a studio that already gets organic arrivals and keeps full daily metrics, but has never once tried to convert them. Whatever you do first, you will be able to see it work or fail within a week.

Discord Activities and Reddit games are both young enough that the playbook is not written yet. If you want to be one of the people who writes it, on a real catalogue rather than a hypothetical, this is that.

How to apply

Email click to reveal with:

  1. A game you marketed, and what specifically you did.
  2. One subreddit you would target for Tower Craft, Paper Jam or Wing It — and how you would approach the moderators.
  3. Whether a revenue-share arrangement genuinely works for your situation.

Play them first. They are free and they take two minutes.
